Champlain student dies following fall

A Champlain College senior died Thursday in Syracuse, N.Y.

Connor Glassett, 21, suffered a traumatic head injury last weekend during a visit to his home in Bainbridge, N.Y. He sustained the injury after a fall.

Glassett was majoring in secondary teacher education, said Champlain President Donald Laackman. Funeral arrangements are pending.

"The process of grieving is difficult, but it can often help to talk it through with someone," said Leslie Averill, vice president of student life.

Counseling and grief support are available through the Champlain Counseling Center, where counselors are available to speak with students, staff and friends in person or by phone.
