No Vermonters have reported identity theft or harm stemming from a data breach in the state's job search database, officials say.

Commissioner of the Department of Labor Lindsay Kurrle at the Statehouse in Montpelier on Thursday, January 5, 2017

The breach occurred about three months ago in the systems of a state vendor, America's JobLink Alliance. Approximately 180,000 Vermont accounts on the website were potentially affected.

Gov. Phil Scott and Labor Commissioner Lindsay Kurrle publicized the breach and encouraged Vermonters to call the governor's office and attorney general's office.

America's JobLink Alliance offered free credit monitoring to anyone affected.

The state has received 15 calls about the breach, but "no incident of identity theft or compromise has been reported," said Jessica Gingras, a legislative liasion at the Vermont Department of Labor.
